How We Began
Here's the story on how helping my grandparents put Christmas lights on their house turns into one of the largest computerized Christmas displays in Bloominton-Normal.
This story goes back to when I was a child. As a child, my grandparents lived in a small town of Newton, Illinois. Every year during the Holidays I would go help my Grandpa put up his lights on the house, Nativity scene, etc. As a child my father put Christmas lights on the house. Nothin huge, just like a "normal house" Some C-9 lights around the windows, eaves, a wreath. At the age of 7 or 8 I began to help my Dad put the lights up outside our home also. Around that time my parent's bought me my first yard decorations. A plastic Nativity scene. That's when I really got the Christmas bug! I eventually took over the outside decorating at my parents house. The first few years, I just had lights here and there, anywhere you could think of I had lights strung. I won a few contests in our local newspaper, like "Most Electric". Every year I have added more lights and decorations. Since which, I am now 20 and for 2011 my display is going to have 248 individual computer controlled channels, more lights, more decorations! Over the years it has since become a hobby of mine.
